Abstract

The study of the fibers / leathers shares objectives with other lines developed for the study of the arqueofaunas. What animals were exploited, what products were obtained, which were derived manufacturing are some of the questions that have been put in the center of the inquiry. Aware of these problems we presents the results from the analysis of furs recovered at sites Cueva Salamanca1 and Peña de Las Trampas 1.1 (Antofagasta de la Sierra, Catamarca, Argentina), dating from ca. 7600-7500 AP and ca. 8200 AP respectively.
