Author Guidelines
The journal receives unpublished work, preferably research results, in all the sub-areas of political science, with special interest in national and politics, methodological and theoretical aspects of political science.
Presentation of manuscripts
Sending
Articles must be submitted through the journal's website. For this, you will need to register and sign in, both to send the manuscript and later check on its status.
Texts must be sent in Word format without indicating the author’s name or mentioning funding projects or any other information or comment that might identify you.
In a separate document, the author must attach a brief curriculum vitae indicating their academic degrees, institutional affiliation, city and country, ORCID, and contact email. If the article is part of a research project or has funding, indicate the name of the project, its dentification, and funding agency or entity.
Style requirements
Articles must have a maximum length of 8,000 words including tables, figures and references, with 1.5 spacing, written in Times New Roman size 12.
Tables, figures and charts must have descriptive titles. Restricting the number to the essentials is recommended.
The first page must contain the title of the article, an abstract of the written work whose length must not exceed 120 words (each) and five keywords. The title, abstract and keywords must be in Spanish and English.
Footnotes and sources must be placed immediately below in Times New Roman, size 10. Limiting footnotes to those strictly necessary is recommended. If used, they should appear at the foot of each page.
In the case of abbreviations or acronyms, the name must be written in full the first time they appear in the text. Subsequently, the abbreviation/acronym will suffice.
Details about the work’s funding sources should be added in a final section that should be placed before the bibliography.
CITATIONS
For citations and compilation of the bibliography, Política. Revista de Ciencia Política uses the format of the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition).
Textual quotations must be faithful to the original source and must be followed by the author´s name, year of publication, and page number, in parentheses, as follows: (Sartori, 2009:21).
Short quotes (under 40 words) should be incorporated into the text and enclosed in double quotation marks (" "). Longer quotes (over 40 words) should be placed in a free-standing block of text, without quotation marks.
TABLES AND FIGURES
-Tables and figures must always have their source indicated in the lower left-hand corner.
-Times New Roman font is used: title in size 11, content in size 11, source in size 10.
-For figures, JPG or TIF are accepted. Photographs or digitized images are not accepted.
BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REFERENCES
The DOI of bibliographical references should be included if available.
